Stick it to the man! Don’t tell me what to do! Let’s face it, in our society we have Authority Issues. Do we even need authority? Why can’t we all just decide how we want to live?
As you trace this movement into decades past you begin to see that we have created a society that has lost respect for authority. We can try to blame this on the 60’s, but it can be traced back much further into our history. You can read about it throughout the pages of the Bible. This is an issue we’ve had since the very beginning.
Join us for a 4 week talk about understanding authority and it’s real purpose in our lives. It might surprise you.

Dominican Trip Update

As many of you know, we are sending a team to the Dominican Republic to begin scouting out a location for our church to invest in for several years. As we planned this trip several months ago, we had no idea what would happen to the neighboring country of Haiti which shares the island. We began immediately trying to figure out if we could send another team to work in Haiti. Many of the people in our church felt an urge to go and do something to help first hand.
We have received information from many of the organizations working to provide relief in Haiti that the country is not allowing small groups into Haiti for at least the next couple of months. The only organizations being allowed in Haiti are government and large relief organizations (Red Cross, Samaritan’s Purse, etc.) This means we are not going to be able to send some of our people into Haiti on April 5th.
However, our team may have an opportunity to work on shipments of supplies sent from the Dominican Republic into Haiti. For more information on our Dominican Republic Trip click here. If you would like to give financially to help someone from our church make this trip, you may designate your gift and give online here.
Haitian Relief

We all know about the devastation that has occurred in Haiti this week. Some are expecting the death toll to be as high as 140,000 lives. Not only is the loss of life tragic, but the survival and recovery for those left behind is overwhelming. While many a seeing doom and gloom, we believe this is an opportunity for the church to show Christ’s love.
We want to do whatever we can to help in the relief efforts. This Sunday, January 17, we are going to take up a special offering to help support faith based organizations taking the charge with relief (Samaritan’s Purse and many others). Let’s all do our part to reach out to our fellow human beings in this terrible crisis. Please consider what you bring this weekend to aid in the relief.
You can also give online and designate it for Haiti Relief. Click here to give online.

Last week you may have received some errant posts from CrossroadsChurchWired.com. The website was experiencing some technical difficulties and some old posts were re-sent in error (4th Wednesday and Operation Christmas Child). We hope they did not cause you any confusion. Hopefully you will not get any incorrect posts in the future.
Thanks,
Crossroads Web Team
